![]() | Angels & Demons (Single-Disc Theatrical Edition)
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $1.58 Finally, Hollywood makes a movie featuring the Vatican. Luckily Ron Howard was at the helm, making it a great film all around.
![]() | Alice (TV Miniseries)
Buy new: $9.73 / Used from: $5.28 Awesome rendition by the Syfy channel. Snazzy, cool, original with twists in the plot all around. Probably the best version of Alice in Wonderland ever made; yes better than both the Disney cartoon and the Depp - Burton creation of 2010.
![]() | Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Widescreen Edition)

Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.88 Great family movie; probably the most under-rated movie of 2009. Bad timing also as it was released in the pre-Oscar buzz and was not made as an Oscar contender.
![]() | UP (Two-Disc Deluxe Edition + Digital Copy)
Buy new: $21.11 / Used from: $9.99 If there ever was a movie that could make you cry, this was it. Unfortunately, it continues Pixar's streak of movies featuring mostly males as the main characters; this one did not even have a female character after the first 10 minutes.

![]() | District 9 (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $1.39 Best alien invasion movie since E.T. Good mix of action, comedy, suspense, and drama. And a good study of the human psyche.
![]() | Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $9.73 / Used from: $3.10 For a cartoon not made by Disney or Pixar, this was mighty impressive. The CGI was good, the characters looked real, and the story was awesome.
![]() | X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $2.88 Not as good as the trailer suggessts, this was still a very good comic-book inspired movie. However, after the original X-men trilogy, this movie was somewhat of a letdown, especially after the great opening credit sequence.
![]() | The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Buy new: $9.73 / Used from: $4.24 2009 is probably the year in which the rest of Hollywood caught up with Pixar in terms of the quality of animated movies. 2009 started great with this highly popular cartoon. Mixing comedy, some romance, some drama, and of course the subthemes of friendship, honesty, and loyalty, this might be the best animated release for the month of March.

![]() | Terminator Salvation (Single-Disc Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $7.08 / Used from: $1.60 Another blockbuster for Christian Bale. As the 90's were dominated by Tom Hanks and to a lesser degree, Kevin Costner, this decade seems to be shaping up to be the decade of Bale and Depp. Bale of course is anchoring the more serious movies, such as the two Batman Hits, the Prestige, and now this reboot of the Terminator series.

![]() | Planet 51
Buy new: $10.37 / Used from: $2.15 OK CGI-comedy. But if you want to see a movie about a human landing on another planet, and then interacting with the locals, then try Avatar instead.
