Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Tom Cruise (before he was the "couch jumper"), and a very young Kirsten Dunst do a very fine job in this film. A young man becomes a vampire and struggles with the idea of being a killer and living forever.

Buy new: $6.95 / Used from: $0.01 Speaking of books, there's nothing wrong with beginning at the, well, beginning. Bram Stoker's novel is classic literature. This book actually helped be a gateway to "the classics" when I was younger.

Buy new: $20.70 / Used from: $7.29 If what attracts you to "Twilight" is young teen vampire love, well then Buffy is a great place to go. Season one is a little rough, and the show seems silly at first, but once it gets rolling in to Season two, it's a solid series straight through to the end.

Buy new: $12.60 / Used from: $4.49 Don't be afraid of a silent film. This movie is almost 90 years old. Not only is it a beautiful film somewhat faithful to Stoker's novel, but it's also a wonderful lesson in the history of cinema.

It's just a capsule of time. Besides, the Lost Boys is fun. Michael and Sam move to a new town with their mom. Micheal's new friends are a little...questionable?

Buy new: $3.99 / Used from: $0.01 Entering the 90's, this is a comic book movie, but also a lot of fun. A half-vampire becomes a vampire hunter. The first sequel is pretty o.k., but third movie kind-of blows.

Buy new: $4.99 / Used from: $0.01 This little sleeper of a movie was a welcome addition to the "teen vs. vampire" genre, when that genre had been dwindling.

 | John Carpenter's Vampires
Buy new: $6.09 / Used from: $1.59 Not the greatest vampire film, but John Carpenter is always an interesting director. Just the opposite of the "teen" vampire movies. Carpenter said he wanted to make an "adult" vampire movie. A vampire hunter has to stop a master vampire from getting god-like powers.
